Kiyoh and Klantenvertellen reviews for Dutch and Flemish businesses

NetClearer reports reviews on Kiyoh and Klantenvertellen that appear to come from people who were never customers, from competitors or from someone trying to extort your business. We serve webshops, installers, garages and service firms in the Netherlands and Flanders. €20 incl. VAT per review; we open the case the same day. The platform decides.

Two Dutch review systems, one owner

Klantenvertellen has been a leading review service in the Netherlands since 2008, and Kiyoh followed in 2009. Both now belong to eKomi, a company based in Berlin, and thousands of Dutch and Belgian webshops show their scores (klantenvertellen.nl). Unlike Google or Trustpilot, you chose these services and you pay for them. The score appears on your own website, in your ads and sometimes in Google’s shopping results.

Their moderation is not always smooth: Kiyoh’s own Trustpilot page carries a score of 1.5 out of 5, mostly from businesses unhappy with how disputes are handled (Trustpilot). A clear, well-documented request makes a difference.

Situations we see

  • A review from a name that matches no order, invoice or appointment.
  • Several reviews in a few days, all with one star and similar wording, after a dispute with one customer.
  • A review that tells a different story than the one in your customer file, written by a competitor.
  • A message saying the bad reviews will stop if you pay. Dutch and Flemish media reported such scams in 2025 (NOS, VRT NWS).
  • A review that quotes the private phone number or home address of an employee.

Your duties, and your arguments

Because the reviews are shown on your own channels, EU consumer law also looks at you. Since 28 May 2022, a trader that publishes reviews must say whether and how it checks that they come from real customers, and it may not claim they do without reasonable checks (Omnibus Directive). This works in your favour too: a review with no order behind it is exactly what a reasonable check should catch. We use that argument with the platform, with your order data as proof.

How we handle it

  1. You send the review links and export the order or appointment data for the dates concerned.
  2. You sign a mandate. If your dashboard lets you add a user, add us; no password needed.
  3. We report each review through your account or the platform’s support, with the ground and the evidence.
  4. If the review is part of extortion, we file the report with the messages and tell you that the police also accept such complaints.
  5. We follow up until the platform answers and send you the result. If the same person attacks you on Google too, see Google reviews.

We do not file against an honest customer who is unhappy, and we never add reviews to raise a score. NetClearer is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. No refund once your request has been filed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I simply delete bad reviews from my Kiyoh page myself?

No, and you should not try. Hiding genuine negative reviews while showing positive ones misleads consumers, which EU law forbids. The right way is to report the reviews that are fake or abusive to the platform, with evidence, and let it decide. Honest criticism stays and deserves a reply.

We use Kiyoh in Belgium. Do you serve Flemish businesses?

Yes. We serve Dutch-speaking Belgium (Flanders) and the Netherlands. Our pages also exist in Dutch (Nederlands). French-speaking Belgian businesses are served by our French site, netclearer.fr. Flemish clients pay the same prices, incl. VAT.

What evidence works best?

An export of orders or appointments for the date of the review, searched by the reviewer’s name and email. If nothing matches, that is strong evidence. Messages from the reviewer, such as threats or demands, also help. We never need card data or full customer lists, only what concerns that review.

What does it cost for several reviews?

One request costs €20 incl. VAT, a pack of 3 costs €54 incl. VAT and a pack of 10 costs €149 incl. VAT. For a large wave of fake reviews across several sites, a monthly plan may be cheaper; we tell you after a free look at the links.
