Latvia: company-register copies and Google results
Company-register copies keep data after you change it; we ask each copy to update or erase it. NetClearer files GDPR requests with Lursoft, firmas.lv and similar databases for people in Latvia, asks Google to delist old results for your name, and prepares the complaint to the DVI if a site refuses. €29 incl. VAT per link.

Latvia in figures
Latvian residents have sent Google 6,804 delisting requests since 2014. Google delisted 48.1% of the requested URLs (Google’s own figures since 2014, Transparency Report). Google handles about 84% of Latvian searches. Yandex has 11.2%, its highest share in the EU, but we do not file requests with Yandex.
Who comes to us from Latvia
A former board member who left a company years ago, but whose name and address still appear next to it on business databases. A sole trader who closed his business and wants his home address out of search results. A former shareholder whose name is still linked to an insolvent company she left long before. In each case, the official register may be up to date; the private copies are not.
Lursoft and the DVI
Lursoft is Latvia’s best-known private provider of company-register data. In 2020 the data protection authority, *Datu valsts inspekcija* (DVI), fined it €65,000 (LV portāls). The DVI checks erasure cases closely: the grounds, the exceptions and whether the company answered within one month. It also accepts that irreversible anonymisation can satisfy an erasure request (Legiscope).
Under the *Manni* ruling of the EU Court (C-398/15), an official company register does not have to erase a director’s data. We therefore do not file against the register. We target the copies, which must justify keeping data that is outdated or that the source no longer shows.
How we work
- You give us your name, the companies concerned and the data that should go. We list the databases and the Google results that show it.
- You sign a mandate and send ID. We send erasure or objection requests under GDPR articles 17 and 21 to each copy, the same day you order, asking for erasure, update or anonymisation.
- We note the one-month deadline and send a reminder before it ends.
- We ask Google to delist the pages that still show your name.
- If a database refuses or does not answer, we prepare a complaint to the DVI. You sign and send it.

Other Latvian cases
- Old results for your name on news or forum sites: Google delisting.
- Fake reviews on your business: Google reviews.
- Posts on social networks: platforms.
Limits and price
We have not verified the opt-out route of firmas.lv and other smaller databases; we check them when you order. The official register keeps what the law requires. Our service is in English. We have not had a Latvian legal review of every route, and we tell you when a case needs a local lawyer. NetClearer is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
€29 incl. VAT per link, €69 incl. VAT for 3, €199 incl. VAT for 10; cards and SEPA. No refund once your request has been filed.
Frequently asked questions
Can Lursoft keep showing my old company role?
It may keep data that has a valid purpose and a legal basis. Data that is outdated, wrong, or no longer shown by the official source is harder to justify. We ask Lursoft to erase, update or anonymise it, and the DVI can check the answer if you complain.
How long does a Latvian database have to answer?
One month under the GDPR, extendable by two months for complex cases if the company tells you why. The DVI checks this deadline in erasure complaints. We track it and send a reminder before it ends. A silent database after the deadline is itself a point for a DVI complaint.
Will the official register change anything?
The Enterprise Register follows Latvian company law, and EU case law does not require it to erase directors’ data. Your former role stays in the official record. What we work on is how private copies and Google show it under your name.
Is Yandex included?
No. Yandex has a real share in Latvia, but we have not researched its removal routes. When a copy site erases or anonymises your data at the source, the page should also drop out of other search engines over time.
