Norway: 1881, Google results and the tax lists
We handle your 1881 listing and Google results; tax lists cannot be removed, and we say so. NetClearer guides your 1881 reservation (made with your phone operator), files Google delisting requests for people living in Norway, sends GDPR requests to sites that copied your data and reports fake Google reviews. €29 incl. VAT per link, €20 incl. VAT per review.

Norway in figures
Norway is not in the EU, but it applies the GDPR through the EEA Agreement, and Google’s European delisting form is open to Norwegian residents. Norwegians have sent Google 29,936 delisting requests since 2014, and 2,683 in the last 12 months, the highest rate per person among our countries after Sweden. Google delisted 57.8% of the requested URLs (Google’s own figures since 2014, Transparency Report).
Google handles about 89% of Norwegian searches and Bing about 6%.
1881: listed unless you reserve
1881 lists everyone with a phone number, with name and often address, unless the person registers a reservation (*reservasjon*). The reservation is made with your phone operator, free of charge, as 1881’s own privacy statement explains; depending on the operator it can take up to about two weeks and also covers other directories fed by the operators. You make the reservation; we tell you exactly how and handle the rest: directories and sites that copied your listing earlier, and the Google results for your name.
This matters for people who moved after a separation, for health workers and police officers, and for anyone who receives unwanted visits or calls.
Tax lists: see who searched, no removal
Every year the Norwegian Tax Administration publishes tax lists showing income, wealth and tax for each taxpayer. They are searchable only after logging in, and since 2013 you can see who searched for you (Skatteetaten). There is no removal route for the lists themselves, and we do not sell one.
If a newspaper article combines your tax figures with other private information, send us the link: the other information may be a separate question for the publisher or Google.
What we handle in Norway
| Problem | Route | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Old or irrelevant results for your name | Google delisting under GDPR art. 17 and 21 | Google delisting |
| Copies of your 1881 listing on other sites | GDPR request to each site | Personal data online |
| Old news about a court case | Publisher request and Google | Old conviction news |
| Fake reviews on your business | Google Maps policy report | Google reviews |
Gulesider and proff.no also publish personal and company data; their opt-out routes are not verified by us yet, so we check them case by case.
Law and authorities
Since 1 January 2025 Norway’s new Lawyers Act lets anyone give legal help outside the courts, while court work stays with lawyers (Juristforbundet). We file requests and reports under your mandate; we never go to court. NetClearer is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
The Norwegian data protection authority is Datatilsynet. When a complaint is the next step, we prepare it; you sign and send it.
Price and payment
€29 incl. VAT per link, €20 incl. VAT per review request. Stripe can show the amount in Norwegian kroner. The payment page shows the methods available to you. No refund once your request has been filed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the EU right to be forgotten if I live in Norway?
Yes. Norway applies the GDPR through the EEA Agreement, and Google’s European privacy form accepts residents of Norway. What counts is where you live, not your nationality. We file the request under your mandate, with your ID and the links.
Can you stop people from seeing my tax figures?
No. The tax lists are public by law. What you can do is check who searched for you, because searches are logged and shown to the person searched. We do not sell requests that have no basis. If a newspaper article adds other private details to your tax figures, send us the link.
I reserved my number on 1881. Why do other sites still show it?
Other directories may have copied your data before the reservation, or take it from other sources. Each one must be asked. We find them, send GDPR requests and ask Google to delist the pages for your name. A monthly or annual plan lets us check again later.
Do you work for Norwegian businesses?
Yes. Norwegian businesses can order review reports for Google and other platforms, at €20 incl. VAT per request. We follow Google’s policy and the platform decides. We never write or buy reviews. Real negative reviews from real customers stay online.
