Reddit threads about you, and their place on Google
NetClearer reports Reddit posts and comments that name you, share your personal details, harass you or state false facts, first under Reddit’s rules and then with an EU notice under the Digital Services Act. Because Reddit threads rank well on Google, we also file delisting requests for your name. €29 incl. VAT per link. Reddit decides.

Reddit is big in the Netherlands and Sweden
In DataReportal’s 2026 figures, Reddit’s ad audience reaches 68.6% of the population in the Netherlands, up 223% in a year, and 60% in Sweden (DataReportal Netherlands). Google shows Reddit threads high in its results, including for questions about local businesses and people. A thread titled with your company name, or a comment that names you in a city subreddit, can become one of the first results for your name.
Two levels of rules
Each subreddit has volunteer moderators and its own rules; above them, Reddit’s sitewide rules apply. Reddit forbids posting someone’s private or confidential information, harassment, impersonation and intimate media shared without consent. Moderators can remove a post from their community quickly; Reddit’s staff can remove content or suspend accounts across the site.
- Personal information: your full name combined with your address, workplace, phone number or photos, used to target you.
- Harassment: threads made to attack a private person, or calls for others to contact you.
- Impersonation: an account posing as you or your business.
- False statements of fact that you can disprove with a document: Reddit may not judge them, but a DSA notice and Google delisting can.
How we handle a Reddit case
- You send the links to the thread and to each comment concerned.
- You sign a mandate and send ID.
- We write to the subreddit’s moderators when their rules clearly apply, and file a report with Reddit itself, the same day you order.
- For content that appears illegal, we file Reddit’s EU notice under DSA article 16, and use the internal complaint if needed.
- We ask Google to delist the thread from searches for your name, using the EU Court’s rulings on outdated or inaccurate content.
Deleted Reddit content sometimes survives on archive sites. We check for copies and handle them as separate links. NetClearer is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
Price and limits
€29 incl. VAT per link, €69 incl. VAT for 3. Honest discussion of a business, including bad experiences, usually stays on Reddit. We never post replies or create accounts to defend you. No refund once your request has been filed.
Frequently asked questions
Should I reply in the thread to defend myself?
Usually not. A reply brings the thread back to the top, adds your name and invites more comments. If you want to answer, keep it short and factual. In most cases, a quiet report and a Google request work better than a public debate.
The moderators refused. Is it over?
No. Moderators apply their community’s rules; Reddit’s sitewide rules and the DSA notice are separate routes. And even if the thread stays on Reddit, Google can delist it from searches for your name, which is what most people see. We use each route in turn.
The thread is about my business, not me. Does that change things?
Yes. A business has no right to be forgotten, and reviews of a business are protected opinion. Personal data about you as the owner, false facts and harassment can still be reported. We tell you which parts have a chance.
Can Reddit tell me who wrote the post?
Not on a private request. Reddit shares user data only under legal process, for example a court order obtained by a lawyer. We focus on the content and its visibility on Google. Courts in your country decide whether to order it.
