Instagram: fake accounts, stolen photos and exposure pages
NetClearer reports Instagram content that targets you: accounts that copy your photos and name, pages that “expose” students or colleagues, private pictures posted without consent, and harassment in comments. We file Meta’s impersonation, privacy and intimate-image reports with your ID and follow them up. €29 incl. VAT per link. Meta decides.

Instagram in our countries
Instagram reaches 55% of the population in Spain, 52% in Sweden and 44% in the Netherlands in DataReportal’s 2026 ad audience figures (DataReportal Spain). It is the network of young adults, small shops, beauty salons, personal trainers and influencers. That is also why its problems are personal: someone copies your profile to scam your followers, a school “confession” page posts your photo with a rumour, or a former partner shares pictures meant for one person.
Cases and the rule behind each
| Problem | Rule | What we need from you |
|---|---|---|
| Account using your name and photos | Impersonation | Your ID and the link to the fake account |
| Fake shop account copying your brand | Impersonation, or intellectual property if you own the brand | Proof of your account or trademark |
| Exposure or gossip page naming you | Bullying and harassment, privacy | Links to each post |
| Intimate photo or video shared without consent | Non-consensual intimate imagery | Links only, never the images |
| Your phone number or address in a post | Privacy | Link to the post |
Stories disappear after 24 hours but can be screenshotted and reposted. Keep your own screenshots with the date; we only need the links for posts and profiles.
How we file
- You send the links. If an account blocked you, a friend can copy the link for you.
- You sign a mandate and send ID. Meta asks the person shown to confirm impersonation, so your ID is attached to that report only.
- We file each report through Meta’s forms and, for content that appears illegal, an EU notice under DSA article 16.
- If Meta keeps the content, we use its review option and then the DSA internal complaint route.
- We ask Google to delist public posts or profiles that appear in searches for your name.
We never ask for your Instagram password and never log in to your account. NetClearer is not a law firm and does not give legal advice.
Price and limits
€29 incl. VAT per link, €199 incl. VAT for 10 links when a page has many posts about you. Meta decides on each report and sets its own timing. Honest criticism of a business and parody accounts that are clearly marked as such often stay. No refund once your request has been filed.
Frequently asked questions
A fake account is messaging my followers for money. What should I do first?
Post a short story on your real account warning your followers, and ask them to report the fake account too. Then send us the link: we file the impersonation report with your ID the same day. Keep screenshots of the scam messages for the police.
Can you take down a whole gossip page?
We report the page and each post about you. A page that exists mainly to harass or expose private people can be closed by Meta, but Meta decides. Often the posts about you are taken down first. We follow each report and tell you the answers.
My photos were copied to another account. Is that enough?
If the account pretends to be you, report impersonation. If it uses your photos without pretending to be you, a privacy or copyright report may fit. We look at the account and choose the route with the best chance. Send us both your account and the copying account.
Will the person know I reported them?
Meta does not usually say who reported content in privacy and harassment cases. For impersonation and copyright, the account holder may learn the name of the person or company behind the report. We tell you which route reveals what before we file.
